Holiday Letter, 2017

Stuart Annual Holiday Letter 2017

Dashing through the snow, then over the river and through the woods…

Much of our year was spent outdoors. Besides the usual doggy hikes/walks, we managed a couple of camping trips. In June we met Jim (Charlie’s brother) for camping, and then attended Soren’s (grandson #2) preschool graduation ceremony in Oregon. Then we joined Jim again in Bend and had a look at the place we expect will be our home next year.

Another camping trip, this time to the Uinta Mountains near us, took place the end of July. Karen’s and Peter’s families joined us. It was full of adventures (good and  bad), such as deer/moose sightings and car trouble.

We stayed home to experience the solar eclipse. It was impressive, even though we were not in the path of the totality.

As Autumn approached, we found ourselves busy with repairs to the house (Charlie) and sewing a quilt and sewing and knitting doll clothes for the silent auction for our  local Habitat for Humanity, and some doll clothes for Therapy Animals of Utah’s silent auction (Peggy).

Soren, who is a good runner, participated in the Special Olympics. He made his little brother proud!

Peggy also participated in the Park City Singers’ Holiday Concerts, which required regular practices all during the fall.

Several times during the year, we participated in protest marches, regardless of the weather. It was great to see so many other people participating  in peaceful protest.

While we’re wishing you and yours a wonderful holiday season and a very happy new year, we wish to share some contact info with you, as we are trying to do as much communication electronically as possible.
